A NEW YEAR WITH THE LORD
As the year is coming to an end I'm going to use these final days to look back on my year and celebrate the God-given opportunities that came my way. A lot of times we are so busy with what is on our plate and looking for the next thing that we haven't taken the time to 'just be'. I invite you to enjoy and celebrate your accomplishments too, and use all of the successes as fuel to continue on full speed in the New Year.
God bless! #theTamaraWoods #celebrate #yearendaccomplishments #motivate #drive #inspire #encourage When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. John 16:21
Greatness is inside of each and every one of us because we have a God-given purpose. In order to fulfill God’s plan for our lives we must be aligned in God’s will. Your passion is part of your purpose. Be encouraged while waiting. It takes time to develop. Repeat after me, I’m pregnant with such #possibility. I’m pregnant with something so #amazing. I’m pregnant with #greatness.” Beloved Your hour is coming to give birth to what God has placed inside of you! "Remember God will never force us to do something He has called us to do. He gives us free will. You must be a participant of what He has called you to do." Pastor Angelo Brown Jr. #LaborPains #Push #Purpose #assignments #KeepPushing #Passion #PushItOut #Destine #Delivered #Shout #Praisebreak #Celebrate #whatGodhasformeitisforme #BeEncouraged #Blessed #theTamaraWoods #fruition #completeness #fullness A year ago 'A Sense Of Purpose: Fighting For Our Lives' had a campaign to raise money to help complete the film that would bring awareness to PTSD and Military Sexual Assault that our soldiers face in the armed forces. At that time we had over 14,253 views and 'Likes', but only 17 people donated. I went before the Lord and poured out how I felt...God will often test our faith. He reminded me of his word - It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. Psalms 118:8
God touched the hearts of the few who donated, and gave thanks (Feeding Of The Five Thousand found in John 6), and now #ASOPMovie is completed. God showed me we must learn to trust in Him even when we don’t have the resources to do what He says. If you want to see a miracle in your life, offer to God what you have and let Him do the rest. Has God given you a task beyond your ability to do? What do you have that you may offer Him? #PraiseBreak #Godwilldoit #TrustGod #TakeGodatHisWord #faith #bible #theTamaraWoods #BragOnGod #SuccessInGOD #OnGODSSuccess #GodsVessel I had a blast last night with my ASOP Family as we viewed the entire movie, "A Sense of Purpose: Fighting For Our Lives", at Dagwoods Pub. We've been together over the course of two and a half years to get this movie made, and it's been a humbling and rewarding experience. You all are amazing!!!

After reading this article it confirmed some things in my life and I know I'm on the right path. I don't want to take credit for the the talent and gifts God has given me because I know its for greater good and part of my purpose - to serve and to use as a platform to do ministry. I am passionate about ministering positive messages that will encourage and enlighten individuals for the purpose of empowering to bring about a meaningful change. Read article by Teri Wade. It's a good read! http://www.backstage.com/advice-for-actors/backstage-experts/actor-healer-how-use-your-talent-good/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=Expert+posts The Actor As Healer: How To Use Your Talent For GoodAs an actor, you probably already identify with being an artist and a storyteller, but you may not see yourself as a healer, even though you are one. Here’s a breakdown of why you’re a healer, and how owning this important role can profoundly advance your acting career.
READ: “How to Overcome Jealousy” When you connect to your role as a healer, you open up new channels of power and influence inside you that make your work more compelling. When connected to your purpose, you’re more confident, and confidence is everything in this business. Deep down, making a greater impact is every actor’s dream. It matters more than booking a series regular or a lead role in blockbuster film, and yet, owning your purpose is what leads to those results. People can feel when you’re connected to your purpose—it strengthens your brand and makes you a magnet for the kinds of roles that align with the impact you want to make. It makes casting directors want you without even knowing why. So ask yourself: What kind of change is most needed in the world right now, and how can my work effect that change? Write your answer on an index card and post it on your bathroom mirror. That daily reminder will help allow your purpose to fuel you and your work. I’ll leave you with this quote from the incredible Toni Morrison: “This is precisely the time when artists go to work, there is no time for despair, no place for self-pity, no need for silence, no room for fear. We speak, we write, we do language. That is how civilizations heal.” If you want to share your purpose as an actor, artist, and healer in a safe, supportive setting, I just created The Evolving Artist™ Green Room for that very purpose, a closed Facebook group where you can let us know the kind of difference you want to make, through your art. Teri Wade has dedicated her life to empowering actors, writers, and directors. Using her transformational coaching methods, she has helped thousands of artists change their lives, enhance their careers and connect with new audiences. They all radiate from ‘Break Out’ actress Tamara Woods, whose been nominated for the Authentic Servant Leadership Award. When she’s not performing or acting, Woods is a doting wife and mother, and volunteer. “As long as I can remember I have always enjoyed helping others,” Woods says. One of her favorite scriptures is Philippians 2:4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. Woods has this scripture on her website and as an email signature. She says, “It’s a reminder to let me know that this life is not about me but how I can serve others and be a reflection of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ”. Woods continues, “I get joy when I can help someone move forward to accomplish their goals, turn their dreams into reality, and bring their vision to fruition.”
Woods had the opportunity a year ago to meet a lovely couple, The Webbs, who are creating unlimited and favorable opportunities for advancement through their business “Opportunity Inc.” Dr. Latisha Webb shared with Woods how the Authentic Servant Leadership Award Ceremony begun and Woods caught on to the vision and immediately volunteered to serve and honor the ASLA 2015 honorees. “The news never promote positive events such as the Authentic Servant Leadership Award which promotes Founders, CEO, Business Owners, Entrepreneurs, and Entertainers whose mission is to transform lives. I had to be on board!” Woods says, “The Word of God tells us in Romans 13:7 7 Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.” The ASLA does just that honoring many individuals who are serving in their communities and places of worship with a social consciousness to create conditions for advancement and personal transformation. As Woods was preparing to serve again for ASLA 2016, she recalls, “I was waiting to receive the email for my instructions and when I clicked on the message and read it, I was the one being nominated. I bowed and shook my head as I smiled and said, My God, My God, with tears rolling down my face.” Woods continues, “Everything I do is for a cause and to express the love of God to make a difference in someone’s life.” Love ones, friends, family, congregants, employees, etc. come celebrate with your very own hometown honoree Tamara Woods, and others for Opportunity, Inc. 3rd annual Authentic Servant Leadership Award Ceremony. This celebratory event will begin at 10 AM on June 11th, 2016 at The Carroll Park Center For Hope, Help, and Healing, 1536 N. 59th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19151. #SuccessinServing #ASLA2016 Have you ever wondered if God is hearing your prayers? Well I am here to assure you that God is listening to every word. I'm always in prayer but lately after the death of the Legendary, musician, composer, innovator, cultural icon, and Activist, Prince, I've been thinking about my time here on this earth. Prince was one of the most influential people in the world who took a stance in the music industry not giving into what "they" said or wanted. I can go on and on about Prince and my thoughts surrounding his death but I will get off topic. During my meditation time, I began to wonder and asked these questions: "Am I spending my time wisely? Am I making a difference as I live for God and share my journey?" And so on. Shortly thereafter, I received an email from one of my Facebook followers who expressed to me that my love for God and my passion to pursue the arts is inspiring. I collapsed on the bed and looked up and said, "Thank you God!". A day later I ran into someone who also follows me on Facebook and said me, "I like the way you use Facebook...I'm inspired by you." As she continued, I smiled and I immediately thanked God because He was letting me know that I've heard your prayers and that I must continue to live for Him. This gave me the fuel to keep going! I will live for God and walk in my purpose because there are lives to be touched! If it's one, two, and/or billions of people, I AM making a difference in someone's life, and you are too!
Thank you God for listening to my prayers and answering my prayers. Amen. To be perfectly honest I am not the one to enter a contest. However my friend Donna Crawley aka D.C. sent me the information and I thought why not. If she took the time to think of me and provided the information at my finger tips I could at least submit. So here I am taking a chance...Thank you Donna!

It is revived January 27 to February 21, 2016. To Kill A Mockingbird has been front and center in cultural news during 2015, as Harper Lee's sequel to her famed novel was released. The show, set during the Great Depression, highlights the powerful story of attorney Atticus Finch and his children after he is appointed to defend Tom Robinson, a black man framed for a crime he did not commit. Their community in Alabama represents a microcosm of the tension between justice and racism that existed during the time period, and is still relevant today.
Keeping with the now annual tradition of the Media Theatre producing one play per season, the show will be a part of the region's Black History Month. Here in my "Rocky" stance with Actor Chad L. Coleman from “The Wire” and Philadelphia’s Rock Stars, Ottrina Bond and Felicia Wilkins. Today I woke up and the theme song Gonna Fly Now from “Rocky” the movie was in my head. I am pumped! #GonnaFlyNow #GoingtheDistance #GettingStronger #MyRockyStance
Be enlightened and encouraged by this scripture. “I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.” ~Ecclesiastes 9:11 Time. It’s my time. It’s your time. After meditating on the Rhema word given by Bishop Keith Butler, and what I took away from it (see previous post) I started compiling my list of expectations for 2016. Therefore, I’m going to start first.
I’m going to BREAKOUT in my career, by doing things differently and doing things I never done before. It's YOUR Turn! “2016 is the Year of the BREAKOUT!” ~ Bishop Keith Butler #Breakout #Expectancy #Breakthrough #2016 #NewYear #FreshStart #Rhema #GodsVessel |
