On Friday, May 18, 2012, Blessed Occasions, Inc. in partnership with the Haitian Professionals of Philadelphia, and the Coalition of Young Christians of Pennsylvania presented their 2nd Annual Charity Fashion Show & Beauty Expo titled “Hair 4 Haiti Extravaganza 2012” at Gallerie Isada in Port Richmond, Philadelphia. It was such a pleasure to be a part of something that will benefit others. This event focused on raising funds as well as awareness in regards to the situation in Haiti and the people there who are still without. This event helped everyone involved realize the importance of living a life in accordance with God's will and not taking for granted the gifts that He has given us and using them to have an impact in the lives of the People of Haiti who still do not even have access to clean water. I had a wonderful experience...this was my first fashion show and I enjoyed the opportunity to participate. Again, it was a pleasure and I am glad that I had celebrated Haitian Flag Day and know that this cause supported the Haitian survivors!
Today was the fitting and rehearsal for the upcoming Fashion Extravaganza. As I arrived, I ran into Ana and Diana, who I was happy to see. We all proceeded in and I met one of the designers name Orlando. We went to the waiting area and I saw some of the former participants from previous rehearsals. I greeted them and we converse until it was time for us to get our measurements. Afterwards, it was time for us to put our heels on to walk. Everyone walked twice, and I was pleased to be chosen by Orlando to wear two pieces from his clothing line. I was also informed that I will wear another designer's piece. So I am looking forward to our call time on May 18 to meet the other designer and to see the clothing we will wear. In the meantime, I will purchase the items needed to be ready. I am so thrilled to be a part of Haiti's celebration and to support the survivors from the January 2010 earthquake.
Tickets are on sale for $25 (see home page). I hope to see you there to celebrate and to be a blessing to others that are in need.
